Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Gloom. Find answers to the most common questions below.
How does the bounty system work?
An artist sets a total budget (e.g., $50) and a payout rate (e.g., $1 per 1 000 TikTok views). When a creator posts a video using the track and submits the link, our system verifies the song, snapshots the view count, and pays the creator from the campaign budget—stopping automatically when the funds run out.
When is the artist charged and the creator paid?
Artists are charged immediately when they fund a campaign. Creators receive payment only after their video passes verification and the view count is recorded, ensuring artists pay strictly for real, validated exposure.
What does the 20 % platform fee cover?
The platform keeps 20 % of each creator payout to cover payment processing, fraud prevention, and continued development of new features. The fee is added on top of the creator’s advertised rate, so creators always earn the full amount they see.
Do I need to connect my Stripe account?
Creators must complete a quick Stripe Connect onboarding to receive payouts. Artists need only a credit or debit card to fund campaigns; no additional Stripe setup is required on their side.
How do you verify song usage?
Our Edge Function calls TikTok’s API (and fallback audio-fingerprinting if needed) to confirm the exact music ID used in the video. If the track doesn’t match, the submission is rejected and no funds leave your campaign balance.
